Medical Systems Overview

Wounds, bleeding, fractures, and infections need different answers. Running out of Bandages mid-fight is one of the most preventable deaths in Road to Vostok. Build habits around restocking at the Doctor every return to Village.

Doctor NPC โ€” Medical Trade Optimization

Restocks every 10 minutes with rotating stock. Trade calorie-heavy food toward meds, check him every Village return, and bulk-buy when cycles align. Occasional Medkits may appear here before the Generalist.

Crafted Medical Items

Herbal Remedy substitutes for Lotion in emergencies (herbs + container). See the Crafting Guide for recipes and herb routes.

Medical Emergency Protocol

  1. Break contact and reach cover.
  2. Tourniquet on limb bleeds.
  3. Bandage remaining bleeds.
  4. Lotion for wound care.
  5. Eat if starving.
  6. Medkit if HP still critical.
  7. Extract to shelter โ€” do not push sub-25% HP in hostile zones.

โ“ Medical FAQ

What medical items should I always carry?

Minimum Area 05 kit: 3ร— Bandage, 1ร— Lotion, 1ร— Tourniquet. Scale up for Border Zone and Vostok per the loadout section below.

How often does the Doctor restock?

Every 10 real-time minutes โ€” the most predictable medical source in the game.

Medkit or Bandage first?

Stop bleeding with Bandage or Tourniquet first, then use Lotion, then Medkit if HP is still critical.

What medical kit is required for Vostok?

Plan for 5ร— Bandage, 3ร— Tourniquet, 2ร— Lotion, 2ร— Medkit (~2.5kg) โ€” non-negotiable for permadeath territory.
